Why is French important?

Did you know that of 37 million people living in Canada almost 23% of them speak French? French is one of the two official languages in Canada, along with English, and areas like Quebec are almost entirely French speaking! It is an incredibly important part of Canadian life, and a lack of French speaking ability can limit career or school possibilities. As a foreigner, I understand the importance of learning French, and if your student is struggling in school, it can influence their grades, their self-esteem, and their ability to learn other languages later in life.
